Maple Class

Welcome to Maple Class.  We are a keen and enthusiastic group of Year 3 and Year 4 Children.

Mrs Hanna and Mrs Gordon are our Class Teachers.

In Maple Class we learn about all sorts of topics.

Improving the Environment

A Village in India

We have looked at ways of recycling materials and how we could improve the local environment.  We created our own rap with groovy actions.

Here we are looking at photographs of people and the landscape in an Indian village called Chembakolli.  We have been learning about what life is like in an Indian village.  We found out some interesting facts.

The Ancient Greeks

Designing and Making a Buggy

We loved learning about the Ancient Greeks.  We used the Internet, artefacts and books to produce information about their daily life and the Greek Olympics.  Paintings on pots provided us with information about how they used to live.  We used our knowledge of thinking skills to help us draw pictures to represent the myth ‘Theseus and the Minotaur’.  We designed and made Greek coil pots.  Making theatre masks was fun!

We do love our creative topics.  Designing, measuring, cutting, gluing, doubling numbers, discussing ideas with friends...phew!  Thinking about how to make our Beach buggy go fast involves a lot of skills.  Using skills from other lessons makes us feel really good about what we can do.

Creative minds makes for creative ideas.
